James Papy Kwabo Jr., founder and former General Manager of Alternative Youth Radio, has encouraged graduates of the Boleylabo Professional Skills Training Program to remain focused and embrace collective action as a pathway to sustainable livelihoods.
Mr. Kwabo delivered the keynote address at the graduation ceremony marking the completion of the program’s second training cycle in Zorzor City.
A total of twenty-four community members graduated after completing vocational training in soap making, handcrafts, interior decoration, cake making, beauty, and hair care.
Addressing the graduates, Kwabo urged them to organize into professional groups, emphasizing that teamwork strengthens unity, attracts external support, and enhances opportunities for job creation within their communities.
“It is always humbling to see the people’s trust and warmth,” Kwabo said. “Our work has always focused on staying present, sharing skills, and helping our communities grow together.”

The organizers has announced plans to enroll fifty additional participants in the next training cycle, reinforcing their commitment to expanding access to skills development in the area.
The Boleylabo Professional Skills Training Program has emerged as a key community-driven initiative in Lofa County, equipping residents with practical skills aimed at boosting local entrepreneurship, economic growth, and self-reliance.
