On Sunday, July 6, 2025, tragedy struck the Telecom Community when Dada Elfah, an electrician employed by Siateh Africa Company, sustained injuries leading to his death following an electrocution incident while servicing a light pole on the Lonestar cell tower.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 3:00 PM as Elfah was working at a height of approximately 70 to 75 feet Pole owned by the Liberia Telecommunciation Authority.
The electrocution caused him to lose his grip, resulting him to fall from the pole.
Emergency services were swiftly notified by a concerned community member, prompting a quick response from local police.
Authorities immediately contacted the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) to request an emergency power shutdown to ensure the safety of rescuers and the victim.
However, the response from LEC technicians was delayed, complicating rescue efforts.
Tragically, Elfah lost his grip and fell to the ground, landing on his head.
He sustained severe injuries and began to bleed profusely.
In a drive to save him, Quick action from onlookers ensured he was transported to C.H. Rennie Hospital for urgent medical care.
In the aftermath of the incident, Siateh Africa Company has remain tightlipped as local media continue to engage the company surrounding the situation.
