The Association of Judicial Reporters of Liberia (AJURL), the umbrella organization representing judicial reporters across the country, extends heartfelt commendation to Yarmie Quiqui Gbeisay on his confirmation as Chief Justice of Liberia by the Liberian Senate.
The confirmation, AJURL notes, is a significant and timely step toward bolstering a robust, transparent, and impartial judicial system in Liberia.
Speaking on behalf of the Association, AJURL President Yassah J. Wright emphasized that Chief Justice Gbeisay’s confirmation is a testament to his deep legal acumen, professional integrity, and longstanding dedication to the rule of law.
According to them, His ascendancy signals a promising new chapter for judicial reform and institutional strengthening within the country’s justice system.
AJURL further acknowledges the nomination of Chief Justice Gbeisay by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, and the swift confirmation by the Senate, as a strong expression of the Government of Liberia’s commitment to accessible, timely, and impartial justice for all citizens.
The media body said the action reaffirms one of the core pillars of democratic governance — the unwavering pursuit of justice and adherence to constitutional order.
At the same time, AJURL calls on Chief Justice Gbeisay to champion meaningful judicial reforms, aimed at enhancing public confidence in the courts, ensuring swift adjudication of cases, and strengthening the independence of the judiciary.
“We encourage His Honor to lead with courage, fairness, and constitutional fidelity — dispensing justice without fear or favor, and ensuring that the courts remain a sanctuary for truth, equity, and accountability,” said President Wright.
As a key stakeholder in the justice ecosystem, AJURL reaffirms its commitment to constructive engagement with the Judiciary and pledges to uphold the highest standards of journalistic ethics in its coverage of legal affairs.
The Association remains devoted to fostering mutual understanding between the judiciary and the public it serves, and to informing national dialogue on matters of law and justice.
