In a heartfelt gesture of respect and unity, former President George Weah honored the late First Lady Nancy Doe with a generous donation and an emotional tribute during her funeral arrangements.
Speaking with visible emotion, the former Liberian leader urged Liberians to embrace peace and unity: “I treated Nancy Doe with respect. We should not let anything come between us. We are one people. We need peace”, he re-emphasized.
As a mark of his respect, Ex- President Weah presented to the Doe’s family with a package comprising 1 million Liberian dollars (approximately US$5,000.00), 50 bags of 25kg rice, and a pledge to provide two large cows for the funeral ceremony.
“On behalf of the CDC, my wife, and my family, I say ‘saray,’” Weah added, using the Liberian expression of sympathy.
He was accompanied at the home of the family by the Chair of the CDC Janga Kowo and the political leader of the Movement for Economic Economic, MOVEE, Amb. Dee- Maxwell Saah Kemayah Sr.
