Rotaract of Monrovia has inducted a new corp of officials to steer the Affairs of that body for a period of one year.
Speaking at the induction ceremony was the Secretary of the Rotary Club of Monrovia Hattie Gbei wureh who admonished the new leadership to lead with Integrity, empathy and purpose.
She reminded the new leadership that Rotary mission is to create positive change in their respective communities, foster professional and personal growth and to build lasting friendships rooted in share purpose.
At the same time she urged them to work and make a difference in their space.
“I also admonish you to envision a bold initiative and inclusive leadership”, she re-emphasized.
Serving as induction officer, Madam Wureh encourage the Rotaractors to engage into services that will address the real needs of the people ranging from heath, education, environmental sustainability as well as strengthening of partnership with Rotary and other community stakeholders.
Moreover, she called on the new leadership to empower every member to lead.
“Leadership is not about one person but about many voices rising together”, she added.
Additionally, she called on all members of Rotaract club of Monrovia to see the platform as theirs, a movement to challenge themselves to think bigger, act boldly and shine deeper, let’s turn our meetings into movements and our ideas into impact “, she stressed.
According to her, leadership is not about the loudest noise that one makes but it is about listening and lifting others, something she wants the new leadership to do.
Work harder and together, make this year unforgettable not for the title you hold but for the lives you will touch”, she reechoed.
Turning over the mantle of leadership to the new President was Lester Toe, former President who thanked his core of leaders for working diligently over the period to achieve their goals.
Releasing his final report to the body, former President Toe informed the gathering that during his leadership they successfully conducted two elections, organized their annual spelling bee competition as well as their annual dinner night geared towards rising funds for the body, among others.
He used the ocassion to encourage the new leadership to serve with passion and not to be distracted by criticism.
Delivering her induction ceremony was RT. President Evangeline Sirleaf who assured her members that she will work proactively over the next twelve months to achieve the desire results.
Under the new theme: Unite for one Goal, President Sirleaf urged her colleagues to join her in seeing the need to lead differently.
At the same time, she call for a united front among each other, “let’s work and unite in order to drive our agenda forward”, she encourage her members.
Madam Sirleaf also underscored the importance of visibility for the body which she noted is key to their new leadership.
“Let’s promote our work and impact in order to reach to the larger audience, let’s reclaim our image and we can make it together “, she added.
Meanwhile, those inducted to steer the Affairs of Rotaract club of Monrovia for the next twelve months include: Evangeline Sirleaf, President, Dorcas Benson, Vice President, Victor James, Secretary, Joelyn Fokoe, Treasure, Harris Fayiah , President elect- 2026/ 2027 and Vestee Worlobah, Sergeant at arm respectively.
