The Fish Town Magisterial Court in River Gee County has undergone a
comprehensive renovation, signaling the Government of Liberia’s commitment to
rural development and strengthening the legal system in southeastern Liberia.
The renovation, spearheaded by the Judicial Branch through the Supreme
Court, included critical improvements such as a new roof, fresh paint, and
enhanced interior features.
This project forms part of a broader national initiative aimed at ensuring
dignified and functional judicial infrastructure across rural Liberia.
The court had reportedly remained in a state of disrepair for several years
before the intervention. With the renovations now complete, community members
have expressed gratitude, citing a renewed sense of trust and dignity in their
local justice system.
Associate Magistrate Anthony Wiah extended heartfelt thanks to the
government and the Supreme Court for prioritizing the renovation. He emphasized
that the upgraded facility not only improves working conditions for court staff
but also reinforces public confidence in the rule of law throughout River Gee
County.
