In its continued mission to promote gender equality in education, the Kutoa
Afrika Foundation has empowered more than 15 young women with digital skills
through a three-month intensive computer training program.
The graduation ceremony, held over the weekend, marked a significant
milestone for the participants, who successfully completed the training aimed
at enhancing their competitiveness in the educational and job sectors.
Delivering the keynote address, Debbie Caranda, Proprietress of the School
of Prime System, emphasized the importance of acquiring specialized skills as a
pathway to personal and professional success.
“Preparedness gives a sense of purpose and sets a goal for
success,” she noted. “Your education is your power.”
Madam Caranda urged the graduates to stay committed to their education,
despite societal barriers.
“Despite the strong male-dominated culture of leadership in Liberia, which
may not always welcome female competition, that should not deter you,” she
encouraged.
Executive Director of the Foundation, Emmanuel Kpoto, reiterated the
organization’s dedication to promoting girls’ education as a cornerstone for
building equitable and progressive societies.
He called on parents and guardians to support the educational journeys of
their daughters, noting that the Foundation was created to challenge harmful
social norms and foster transformative change in communities.
“The Kutoa Afrika Foundation remains committed to transforming lives through
education, advocacy, and community empowerment,” Kpoto affirmed.
