Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan has called for urgent and increased investment in Liberia’s health sector, asserting that “failure is not an option” when it comes to meeting the expectations of the Liberian people.
Speaking during a “deep dive” session with the Ministry of Health’s management team on Thursday in Congo Town, Minister Ngafuan stressed the need for effective and accountable delivery of healthcare services across the country.
Health Minister Dr. Louise Kpoto, in response, commended Minister Ngafuan for his instrumental role in securing salary increases for health workers—a move widely seen as a step toward improving morale and performance in the sector.
The Finance Minister is expected to continue these strategic consultations next week with similar engagements at the Ministries of Education, and Mines and Energy, as part of a broader initiative to align national priorities with budgetary support and performance outcomes.
