The Airport Manager of Roberts International Airport (RIA), James Mulbah, has convened a high-level facilitation meeting aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and improving service delivery at the country’s main international gateway.

The meeting, held at the RIA terminal, brought together key airport personnel and representatives from major government institutions to address ongoing infrastructure and service delivery challenges affecting passenger experience and cargo operations.

Among the institutions represented were the Liberia Immigration Service, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency, the Liberia Revenue Authority, and the Ministry of Agriculture.

The gathering provided a platform for stakeholders to identify operational gaps and propose practical solutions to improve efficiency at the airport.

Discussions during the meeting focused on several priority areas, including the need to upgrade the airport’s check-in system to reduce long wait times and enhance passenger convenience.

Stakeholders also emphasized the construction of a Unit Load Device (ULD) storage facility at NAS-Menzies, which is expected to significantly improve cargo handling and streamline logistics at the airport.

Additionally, participants highlighted the urgent completion of the airport’s lighting system as a critical safety measure, particularly for nighttime operations and overall airport functionality.

Speaking during the session, Hon. Mulbah underscored the importance of collaboration among institutions in achieving meaningful reforms at the airport.

“This meeting reflects our shared commitment to transforming Roberts International Airport into a world-class facility,” he said, adding that sustained coordination among stakeholders is essential to delivering efficient and reliable services.

The meeting comes amid ongoing efforts by airport authorities and government agencies to modernize infrastructure and improve service standards at RIA, which serves as Liberia’s primary international entry point.

Stakeholders expressed optimism that the outcomes of the engagement will lead to tangible improvements in both passenger experience and operational performance.
