The Executive Director of the Governance Commission (GC), Jallah C. Kesselly, has encouraged young Liberian graduates to use their digital skills to positively contribute to national development, describing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a key driver of opportunity in today’s world.
Mr. Kesselly made the remarks on Thursday, December 18, 2025, when he served as guest orator at the Fifth Convocation Ceremony of the Elevation Institute of Technology, held at the institution’s campus in Sinkor, Monrovia.
He stressed that their academic achievements should not be seen as ordinary milestones, but rather as a declaration of readiness to innovate, compete, and succeed in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
Kesselly commended the institution’s administration for its commitment to building ICT capacity among young Liberians.The GC Executive Director emphasized the growing relevance of ICT globally, noting that modern economies are increasingly driven by digital knowledge and innovation.
“In today’s world, success is increasingly driven by digital skills. ICT has become the new language of opportunity,” he said.
The GC Boss further further told the graduates that their decision to pursue ICT and digital studies has positioned them among the most sought-after professionals in the job market.
According to him, ICT skills are now critical in government institutions, private sector organizations, schools, hospitals, and across the global economy.
He delivered his keynote address under the theme, “Digital Skills, Digital Success: How Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Creates Opportunities for All.”
