President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has announced a series of new appointments in his administration and ordered the dissolution of selected boards as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and improve government performance.

In a statement released Wednesday from the Executive Mansion, President Boakai named several officials to strategic positions across government ministries and agencies. The appointments, where applicable, are subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate.

Key Appointments;

Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs

Mack C. Mulbah , Head of the Presidential Delivery Unit, Varfin V. Donzo, Assistant Minister of State without Portfolio.

At the Ministry of Mines & Energy

Oliver S. Gbegbe, Assistant Minister for Energy

The National Bureau of Concessions

Hanson Kiazolu, Director General while at the Bureau of State Enterprises, J.S.B. Theodore Momo, Jr. – Director General

In a separate development, President Boakai dissolved the Boards of Directors of three key state institutions, citing the need for restructuring to ensure alignment with his administration’s reform agenda. The affected entities include:

  1. William V.S. Tubman University
  2. Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI)
  3. Booker Washington Institute (BWI)

The President clarified that statutory board members will retain their positions based on the laws governing their appointments.

Until the boards are formally reconstituted, the sector leaders responsible for each institution will serve as acting chairpersons.

President Boakai expressed appreciation to outgoing board members for what he described as their “dedicated service and contributions to national development.”

Meanwhile, The Liberian leader reiterated that these moves are part of a broader commitment to efficiency, accountability, and results-driven leadership across all sectors of government.
