The Head of the Government Assets Recovery and Properties Retrieval Team, Cllr. Edwin Martin, has clarified that his team followed all due processes in the arrest and investigation of individuals linked to alleged acts of corruption.

Speaking at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism’s regular press briefing on Thursday in Monrovia, Cllr. Martin stated that his team is working closely with international partners to ensure that both former and current government officials connected to corruption cases are brought to justice.

He revealed that the team is currently handling 26 high-profile cases, of which three have already been fully investigated.

According to Cllr. Martin, all defendants involved in these cases will remain in the country to undergo legal proceedings.

He also disclosed that, with the assistance of AREPT’s international partners, the team has identified and is in the process of recovering properties located in the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

He pointed out that Investigations are ongoing, and efforts to retrieve these assets through legal channels are well underway.

Cllr. Martin spoke Thursday following the arrest and current detention of three high profile former Government officials to include; Amb. Dee- Maxwell Saah Kemayah Sr, former Foreign Minister, Mary Broh, Former Director General of the General Services Agency and Henry Williams, former Head of the National Diaster Management Agency of Liberia.
