The Africa Prosperity Network (APN) has announced plans to launch a massive, youth-led continental mobilisation campaign aimed at securing 10 million signatures in support of a borderless Africa.
The initiative, titled “Make Africa Borderless Now!”, will be unveiled at the Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) 2026, scheduled for 4–6 February 2026 in Accra.
Hosted by former Ghanaian President H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the APD 2026 will bring together policymakers, business leaders, innovators, and youth voices from across the continent.
This edition of the summit is set to shift from high-level policy conversations to a bold citizens’ action agenda, marking a significant pivot in Africa’s push for deeper regional integration.
Once launched, the campaign will roll out across Africa and the diaspora for one year, mobilising millions of young people, institutions, creatives, and influencers.
The signatures will be formally presented to African Heads of State during the 40th African Union Summit in February 2027, signaling a coordinated public demand for practical steps toward free movement and cross-border economic participation.
The “Make Africa Borderless Now!” movement seeks to accelerate Africa’s integration by urging governments to adopt policies that enable, Visa-free travel for Africans across Africa, Unrestricted movement of people, goods, capital, and services, Cross-border mobile money transactions to boost intra-African trade and the Implementation of measures aligned with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
APN says achieving these freedoms is key to unlocking Africa’s economic potential and empowering young people, who constitute the continent’s largest demographic group.
To drive the campaign’s coordination, APN has created a dedicated Africa Without Borders Desk at its Secretariat in Accra.
According to the organisation, the initiative has already drawn “phenomenal interest” from multilateral bodies, captains of industry, leading creatives, pan-African advocates, and youth-led groups.
The Organisers say the 2026 Dialogues will serve as a launchpad for one of the most ambitious civic-led actions in modern African history.
With rising support from across sectors, APN believes the campaign will serve as a powerful signal that African citizens are ready to champion a continent where borders no longer hinder movement, opportunity, or prosperity.
