Sinoe County Eye Health Steering Committee is concluding its first major meeting focused on shaping Eye Health policy for the county.
The gathering addressed:
strategies, operational plans, and clear guidelines for implementing Eye Health interventions in all districts.
At the same time, Members also discussed resource mobilization to support programs and provide technical advice for ongoing activities.
Assessing the progress of national and regional Eye Health plans was another key point on the agenda.
As part of the meeting, Leaders agreed to take the lead in advocating for Eye Health priorities both locally and nationally.
Additionally, one major outcome of the meeting was the creation of a county-specific action plan for Eye Health.
Representatives from fifteen institutions in Sinoe attended, including youth groups, media, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, religious leaders, the Ministry of Gender, among others.
During the meeting, Each group shared ideas on how to make Eye Health services more accessible and effective.
The diverse participation ensured the policy discussions reflected the needs of all sectors.
Many participants noted that collective effort is vital for the success of the plans.
They emphasized that united stance showed strong commitment to improving public health in the county.
“This collaborative spirit is expected to strengthen Eye Health advocacy in Sinoe”, they added.
Meanwhile, Participants described the meeting as welcoming terming it an eye opener for Eye Health development in Sinoe.
They however urged residents to make full use of available Eye Health facilities in their districts.
Public awareness and early check-ups were stressed as key ways to prevent vision loss.
Stakeholders believe the action plan will help turn ideas into real change.
Meanwhile, The committee plans to launch outreach efforts to ensure that the collective effort of all citizens is felt to the core.
