In an effort to support the intellectual capacity building of citizens in Grand Cape Mount County, Senator Dabah Varpilah has launched tuition aid program for students pursuing tertiary education.
Through her Students Financial Assistance Program, she recently provided financial aid to 66 students for the University of Liberia enterance registration in David A. Straz-sinje Technical College, Grand Cape Mount County.
The funds in the tune of $200,000 Liberian Dollars also caters to enrollment fees for selected students on the program.
The activity is being supported under the Senator’s foundation titled: ‘ The Ma Dabah Foundation’.
The Senator gesture came at the result of public outcries for financial constraints to sit the enterance despite determination to forward their education.
Senator Varpilah believes that investing into citizens’ education will help improve enrollment at the institution and her quest for empowering young people through human capacity building will be valued.
She foresees that an empowered and prepared generation is the beginning of making Cape Mount and Liberia great again.
The Grand Cape Mount County Senator has promised to maintain such support for the students and encouraged them to take advantage of the opportunity, while extending the support to other Universities and colleges in Liberia.
Meanwhile, beneficiaries of the program have lauded Senator Varpilah for the support and have promised to make maximum use of it.
