Montserrado County District #2 Representative has clarified that the ongoing rehabilitation of several major community roads in the district, including the St. Francisโ€“Chicken Farm corridor, Peace Island Road, and the Amagashi Community stretch, is the direct outcome of a formal request made by his office to the Ministry of Public Works.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, the lawmaker revealed that the Ministry formally responded in writing, affirming its approval to undertake the rehabilitation works as requested.

According to him, while the Ministry is spearheading the technical aspects of the project, his office is providing fuel for the heavy-duty machines and meals for the workers to ensure the effort proceeds without interruption.

The Representative commended residents for their consistent advocacy for better road conditions but stressed the importance of clarifying the source of the intervention. โ€œOur constituents are happy, and we remain grateful for their tireless advocacy.

However, it is important to clarify that these ongoing works are strictly the result of our formal request,โ€ he stated. He also disclosed that several residents recently engaged the Minister of Public Works to discuss the deplorable condition of the Neeklay Townโ€“Rehab Road.

Following the meeting, the Minister assured them that rehabilitation of the road is scheduled for the upcoming dry season.โ€œWe do not see our efforts as seeking glory,โ€ the Representative emphasized.

โ€œWe were elected to serve, and we owe it to our people to deliver on the development needs of District #2.โ€

He encouraged citizens to continue advocating for improved infrastructure and development initiatives, not only within District #2, but across the country, adding that such voices help strengthen national calls for enhanced public services and sustained government action.
