Lofa County Senator Momo Cyrus is said to be proactively fulfilling his campaign promises made to his people.
It can be recalled during his county wide campaign tour, Senator Cyrus among other things promised human capital development especially for the young people of Liberia County.
As a manifestation of his commitment, Senator Cyrus announced 1m Liberian dollars Financial aid to students of Lofa University and the Free Pentecostal University respectively.
The robust and result oriented lawmaker believes that one of the best ways to develop a nation is to empower the youth and future generation something he pledged his commitment to for the common good of the County and Country in general.
Senator Cyrus a passionate leader sees preparation of the young people through capacity development as a significant pillar to lasting peace and stability of any nation.
His latest initiative is in addition to his already sponsored and expended over 10,000 united states dollars for students attending higher institutions of learning especially Cuttington University, African Methodist Episcopal Zion University, United Methodist University and Smythe University.
According to him, financial aid will be a key focus and a core of his leadership following the completion of major projects in infrastructure development, women empowerment as well as youth development through scholarship among others.
In the wake of challenging economic conditions across the Country, Senator Cyrus intervention has been described as not only timely but a great relief for struggling parents in Lofa County.
“Thanks for your continuous support and empowerment for our children, your initiative is laudable and appreciated” , said a citizen of Lofa County.
As part of the educational intervention by the Lofa County Senator and in a move to ensure that the process is transparent, Senator Cyrus has instructed his chief of office staff, Arthur Kowah to coordinate with the two Universities , including his county office as well as an independent multi- stakeholders scholarship committee to work together during the entire vetting process.
The vetting process he assured the public will be very transparent to ensure that the right and deserving students benefit.
The Lofa County lawmaker who also believes in transforming the lives of the young people of Lofa County and Liberia in general was also quick to encourage the potential beneficiaries to take advantage of the opportunity in order to learn and become productive citizens for tomorrow.
Peace and reconciliation, youth and women empowerment, scholarships opportunity and infrastructure developments have been key pillars highlighted by the Lofa County lawmaker and with his tangible fulfillment of his promises over the period, many Lofians see him as true leader and a people servant person who continues to fill the gap and rescue them in the face of ongoing challenges and hardship across the Country.
