Grand Gedeh County District #3 Representative Jacob Debee has issued a stern ultimatum to Lib-Energy, demanding the immediate restoration of electricity to Toe City following several weeks of total blackout.
Speaking with urgency and concern, Rep. Debee decried the prolonged power outage, which he says has crippled daily life and dealt a severe blow to local businesses, considering the silence and inaction as from Lib-Energy are both unacceptable.
Debee warned that his office will launch a comprehensive review of Lib-Energy’s operations and financial records to ensure greater accountability from the utility provider.
He has stressed that if Lib-Energy fails to restore power, he will purchase a new transformer for the city, stating that his people cannot continue to live in darkness while prices of goods and services keep rising.”
The blackout, which began on April 8, 2025, was triggered by the breakdown of the city’s only transformer. Since then, Lib-Energy has not issued any official update, further fueling residents’ frustration.
Toe City residents have expressed growing anger over the lack of communication and concrete action from the energy company. Many say their livelihoods and well-being have been severely impacted, with small businesses particularly hard-hit.
As pressure mounts, all eyes are now on Lib-Energy and whether the company will respond to the representative’s ultimatum—or face escalating public and political backlash.
