Mixed views have characterized the demolition process of the headquarters of the Coalition for Democratic Change in Congo Town.

The eviction followed a court ruling after a long legal battle.

After twenty years of establishment, valuable properties on the grounds of the CDC were seen broken down to zero by bulldozer heavily protected by armed men of the Liberia National Police.

According to eyewitnesses, the process guided by the police began early Saturday morning.

In quick response to the situation, Former President of Liberia and Political leader of the opposition CDC, George Weah always peaceful, warned his partisans to allow the police to do their work.

He encouraged his partisans to see such action as a challenge and called on them to focus on building their new home.

The former President of Liberia challenged his partisans to now see the situation as a wakeup call for them to recalibrate their forces , and get prepared to take back power in 2029.

At the same time, The demolition of the CDC headquarters which drew major attention was also characterized by mixed views among the people.

According to some Liberians, the CDC allegedly blunder and should have done well to secure the property when they were in power.

“The law is the law, let the CDC go and find their own property”, said another Liberian.

On the other hand, some CDCians considered the demolition as more political than the reality.

“The structure is not the party, we, the people are the party and we will not be move by what the government did, we are even stronger by this and we are resolve and will stay with our party”, a passionate CDCIAN explained.

According to another Liberian, the move allegedly by the government is unfair and does not speak well of the Country’s growing democracy.

“Let the government stop hidding behind the law , this was a clear political game by the ruling party and we are aware but let them continue, we will make our decision in 2029”, said another Liberian in an angry mood.

Following the initial plan demolition weeks ago, the social media was flooded with photos structure depicting the new home of the CDC.

The spacious, spirited home of the CDC which normally hosts political activities, battle cry, as well as the famous sakomore tree in Congo Town is now history following the demolition process.

The demolition process also saw the arrest of former West Point commissioner.

According to reports he was caught in one of the structures where a gun was also discovered.

Meanwhile, As the former ruling party headquarters is no more, there are plans in the making according to top officials relative to the construction of a new home for the main opposition CDC.

As the debate continues following the demolition of the CDC headquarters, mixed views pains and disbelieve is now the order of the day among Liberians especially CDCIANS who once see their headquarters as a comfortable home for traditional political movement and interactions.
