In a significant move to heighten awareness about neglected tropical diseases, the Liberia Clothfoot Program, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and other sponsors are expected to celebrate World Clothfoot Day on Tuesday, June 3, in Monrovia.
According to Lofa County District Five Representative and head of the Liberia Clothfoot program Augustine Chiewolo, the event aims to raise awareness about the impact of clothfoot disease and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment, especially in vulnerable communities.
He further disclosed, the celebration in Monrovia will feature educational workshops, free health screenings, and testimonials from individuals affected by clothfoot disease.
Health professionals will provide valuable information on prevention and treatment options, aiming to empower communities with knowledge that can help them navigate the challenges posed by this condition.
As preparations for World Clothfoot Day progress, authorities at the Liberia Clothfoot program and health advocates are calling on the public to participate in the activities planned for the event, promoting solidarity in the fight against neglected tropical diseases in Liberia.
