The Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia Dr. Chris Dugbeh Nyan has confirmed thirty five cases of Mpox virus in the Country.
Speaking to journalists, Dr. Nyan said as their ongoing fight continues they now have 77 recoveries and no reported deaths.
The NPHIL boss used the occasion to encouraged all Liberians to remain alert and follow all health guidelines as authorities work to keep the disease under control.
As part of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia efforts to combat the further spread of the virus , it is continuing its border surveillance tour across the country.
The team, led by NPHIL Director General, Dr. Dougbeh Nyan, is currently in Lofa County.
They are visiting key border towns along Liberia’s frontiers with Sierra Leone and Guinea.
Other entry points including Medicorma and Sorlumba in Lofa County are part of the inspection.
The tour is meant to boost surveillance activities at these crossings and reinforce public health prevention measures.
