House Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon, along with members of the 55th Legislature, have paid a solemn and heartfelt farewell to the late Deputy Chief Clerk, Mr. C. Cormicks Chea Sr., whose passing has left a deep void in the administrative fabric of the House.

At the funeral rites of Mr. Chea, Speaker Koon described the fallen official as a โ€œdedicated public servant, a meticulous administrator, and a man of integrity who served the House with distinctionโ€, He added, โ€œ

โ€œMr. Cheaโ€™s absence will be deeply felt not just within the chambers, but by all who knew and worked alongside him. He will be sorely missed.โ€

He served with diligence and professionalism, contributing significantly to the daily operations and legislative support systems of the House.

His tenure as Deputy Chief Clerk was marked by a commitment to order, transparency, and institutional efficiency.

At the sad event, Members of the House joined Speaker Koon at the cemetery in expressing their condolences to the Chea family and reflecting on Mr. Cheaโ€™s legacy of service and humility.

โ€œOur hearts go out to the Cheaโ€™s family during this time of loss,โ€ said P. Mike Jury. โ€œHis memory and impact will live on in the annals of this Legislature.โ€

Meanwhile, Cormicks was laid to rest Saturday, 14 June at St. Moses Cemetery on the Bomi Highway.

The House of Representatives has pledged to honor Mr. Cheaโ€™s legacy by continuing to uphold the values he embodied throughout his years of service.
