The government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Education, has donated 150 armchairs to be distributed to two public schools in River Gee County, ahead of the upcoming academic year set to commence in November.
The disclosure was made by Jallah Sammy, the County Education Officer, during a press conference held at his office in Fish-Town on July 7, 2025.
Mr. Sammy specified that the chairs are designated for Early Childhood Development (ECD) students at both the Gee Foundation School and the Fish-Town Demonstration School.
He emphasized that the initiative supports President Boakai’s ARREST Agenda, which aims to enhance the quality of education within public schools as the new school year approaches.
The County Education Officer encouraged school administrators to take a proactive stance in overseeing the chairs, highlighting the necessity of their upkeep and the accountability for their care, among others.
The local education official indicated that the forward-thinking approach is seen as crucial for providing students with the vital resources required for a conducive learning environment.
At the ssme time, The donation underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to improving educational infrastructure and supplying students with necessary tools, particularly in economically disadvantaged regions like River Gee County.
