Girls Health Alliance a Non for Profit girls and women health rights advocates has been selected as a recipient of the Plan International Liberia Youth Challenge Fund.

This significant grant will support the implementation of its STAGE Project, an initiative aimed at advancing gender equality and improving adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) across communities.

GHA on its official Facebook page announced that the STAGE Project, meaning Sustainable Tough Action for Gender Equality, will focus on empowering young people through peer education, provision of youth-friendly SRHR services, and strengthening community support systems.

Speaking about the achievement, representatives of the Girls Health Alliance described the opportunity as more than just a funded project, calling it “a movement” intended to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed decisions about their bodies and futures.

“This initiative is about giving adolescents a voice and the tools they need to actively participate in decisions that affect their lives,” the organization noted.

Girls Health Alliance expressed appreciation to Plan International Liberia for the trust and support, emphasizing that the grant reflects confidence in their vision and grassroots impact.

The group also acknowledged the role of its parent organization, YOCEL, and other supporters who have contributed to its growth and success.

With implementation set to begin, the organization says it is eager to collaborate with partners, communities, and stakeholders to ensure the success of the project and expand its reach.

The STAGE Project is expected to play a vital role in addressing gaps in adolescent health services and promoting gender equality, particularly among vulnerable youth populations in Liberia.

The announcement has been met with excitement among team members, who described the milestone as a collective achievement and a stepping stone toward broader impact.
