The community of Gbarnga is reeling after the body of a 52-year-old man,
identified as Kerso Teach and commonly known as “Bull Dog,” was
discovered early Wednesday morning, May 14, 2025, near the Old Ganta-Parking
Police Depot.
Teach, who had been living on the streets for the past two months,
reportedly left home after ongoing disputes with his wife, Mamie Kind. Speaking
to reporters, Kind expressed deep sorrow over his death, recalling their last
conversations and describing the profound loss felt not only by their family
but also by the wider community.
In response, the Bong County detachment of the Liberia National Police (LNP)
launched an investigation, forming a fifteen-member coroner’s jury led by
President Kabina Kromah. The jury found no evidence of foul play, concluding
that Teach died of an unspecified illness.
However, this conclusion has sparked further concern among residents. The
unexplained death adds to a troubling pattern in Bong County, where several
bodies have recently been found in public spaces raising fears of a growing
public health or safety crisis.
Teach’s body was turned over to his family for burial following the
investigation. In a related development, the police are seeking public
assistance in identifying an unidentified man found dead in a vehicle just a
day before Teach’s discovery.
This case is reportedly linked to Nyanquoi Urey, a member of the Bong County
Health Team who is currently on assignment in China.
As the community mourns, local authorities are calling for increased
vigilance, public cooperation, and more attention to the region’s mounting
security and health challenges.
