The delegation of the House of Representatives of Liberia has been formally admitted into the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) at the ongoing 5th Ordinary Session of the Sixth Legislature in Midrand, South Africa.

The delegation include Alex S. Noah โ€“ Head of Delegation, Alex Job Grant and Member, Marie Johnson โ€“ Member respectively.

The induction took place during a plenary session of the Pan-African Parliament on Monday, July 21, 2025, following which Alex S. Noah delivered a stirring inaugural address on behalf of the Liberian delegation.

Describing the induction not merely as a ceremonial formality but as a solemn recommitment to the ideals of African unity, justice, and development, Hon. Noah expressed Liberiaโ€™s deep pride in being an active member of the continentโ€™s premier legislative forum.

He highlighted the diversity of the delegationโ€”two males and one femaleโ€”noting that Hon. Marie Johnson, though unable to attend due to a family emergency, remains fully engaged and committed to the work of the Parliament.

Hon. Noah reaffirmed Liberiaโ€™s readiness to work with fellow parliamentarians to: Advance a continental legislative agenda, Promote good governance and democratic principles, uphold the rule of law and Champion sustainable development and regional stability.

โ€œThe Pan-African Parliament remains a powerful symbol of unity, diversity, and determination to forge a common destiny for all Africans,โ€ he declared.

The head of the Liberian delegation also expressed appreciation to the leadership and Secretariat of the Pan-African Parliament for the warm welcome and logistical coordination provided to new and returning members.

In his address, Hon. Noah emphasized the importance of solidarity and decisive collective action to confront Africaโ€™s greatest challenges, including: Climate change and environmental degradation, Youth unemployment and health crises and Insecurity, poverty, and political instability

He urged parliamentarians to rise beyond borders and party lines to legislate for the collective benefit of the continentโ€™s people.

Hon. Noah concluded by conveying renewed best wishes from Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon and the 55th Legislature of Liberia, expressing hope that the current session will be marked by impactful dialogue, innovative ideas, and decisive action that uplift and unify Africa.

โ€œLet us legislate not just for our nations, but for our neighbors, Let us build an Africa worthy of its people.โ€ Hon. Noah asserted.
