Former Commissioner of the Liberia Immigration Service Steve Zargo has allegedly linked his indefinite suspension and subsequent replacement to high ranking officials in government.
Speaking recently on a local radio station in Lofa county, Zargo directly accused the Minister of Internal Affairs, Francis Nyumalin, and the National Security Advisor to the President, Samuel Koffi Woods, of being behind his removal.
Zargo, whose three-month suspension by President Joseph Boakai appears to have become an indefinite dismissal with the appointment of Elijah Rufus as his successor, expressed his frustration at being, in his words, used as a sacrificial lamb under the doctrine of tradition, which calls for nephews to unconditionally and unquestionably respect their uncles.
Despite his suspension letter lacking any specific charges or reasons for his removal, Zargo firmly believes and alleged that Minister Nyumalin and Advisor Woods actively worked to have him ousted.
He further implicated Minister of State Sylvester Grigsby, alleging that these individuals feel that he (Zargo) should not survive under this arrangement.
In a startling claim, the former LIS boss asserted that Nyumalin, Grigsby, and Woods have effectively hijacked the office of the President and are making decisions about who works in the government and who does not.
Meanwhile, the accused top fficials of government are yet to respond to the allegations.
