A longtime entrepreneur and youth development advocate, James K. Mulbah, has officially declared his membership in the ruling Unity Party (UP), marking his first formal affiliation with any political institution.
Mulbah made the assertion during a brief engagement with journalists at the Unity Party’s Homecoming event, where he emphasized his commitment to contributing meaningfully to national development.
He explained that his decision was not driven by personal ambition or a desire for public recognition, but by a genuine conviction to support a team he believes is steering Liberia in the right direction.
According to him, the progressive steps taken by the Unity Party-led government left him with no option but to join and contribute to what he described as the administration’s growing achievements.
“We are between the walls of history, the walls of progression and retrogression. We have signed off for progression, not retrogression,” he said.
“We are standing here today to make it clear that we are joining the Unity Party and we are making a strong position,” Mulbah added.
Mulbah further pledged his long-term commitment to the party, declaring:“As we make our position clear here, to the leadership of the UP, we are here, and here to stay. We are here to be here, and here forever.”
He noted that President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s unwavering fight against corruption was a major factor in his decision, adding that the President’s commitment to accountability and the rule of law aligns with his personal values.
Mulbah, the current Robert International Airport (RIA), Manager described the Unity Party’s governance approach as a “revolution of the people,” stating that he has chosen to “eat what the people eat and go where the people go,” underscoring his desire to remain connected to grassroots realities.
More than 1,000 persons from Margibi and Montserrado Counties, along with supporters under the banners Friends of James K. Mulbah, the Boakai Empowerment Network (BEN), and the Boakai Connections, gathered around the Unity Party Headquarters in solidarity as he officially joined the party.
Mulbah expressed gratitude to the men and women who traveled from various locations to rally around him, describing their support as historic and assuring them that their efforts “will never be regretted.”
His entry into the Unity Party is expected to further strengthen the party’s push to enhance governance, improve service delivery, and address critical socio-economic challenges.
Party officials have welcomed his decision, describing it as a significant boost to their mission of promoting transparency, unity, and national development.
