Residents of Grand Bassa County are reeling after the sudden death of a young man under mysterious circumstances, prompting the detention of four individuals for questioning. The incident has fueled anxiety and suspicion within the BIA Community in District #2.
On Sunday, May 4, the community was rocked by the discovery of Lincoln Bee, a man in his late twenties, found dead near a creek on his family’s farm. His father, Henry Bee—a First Lieutenant in the Armed Forces of Liberia—discovered the body and described visible bruises, raising concerns of a possible altercation.
According to Henry Bee, four workers hired for charcoal production were present on the farm when Lincoln was last seen. They reportedly returned to town later that evening but gave conflicting accounts of Lincoln’s whereabouts. Concerned, Henry initiated a personal search that led to the grim discovery.
A local jury examined the body but found no conclusive evidence of foul play. Nonetheless, police detained the four workers as persons of interest, suspecting they may hold key information.
Following preliminary investigations, Henry Bee received custody of his son’s remains for burial. He later confirmed the release of the four individuals initially held, suggesting that while suspicions remain, definitive answers have yet to emerge.
As investigations continue, residents of the BIA Community are left grappling with uncertainty, haunted by the possibility that Lincoln Bee’s death was not accidental.
