Emmett P. Coker has officially entered the race for President of the United Methodist University Alumni Association (UMUAA), with Team-Coker announcing the formation of a 100-member Campaign Committee ahead of the February 28, 2026 elections.
Coker, who currently serves as Secretary General of the UMUAA, has a longstanding record of service to the University.
He has served as an Adjunct Lecturer, former Secretary General of the 14th Graduated Class, former Coach of the UMU Debate Team, and a former Work-Study Student.
His campaign is anchored on the theme, “Carrying the Light Forward.” According to Team-Coker, the newly unveiled committee reflects a diverse and inclusive representation of the Alumni Association, comprising former presidents, professionals, and committed alumni to ensure a structured and issue-driven campaign.
Heading the Campaign Advisory Committee are former presidents, James Fallah, Jah Wolobah Beyan, Meekie Reeves, Fata Donso Sirleaf, David Kermu, and Augustine Blackie. Other members include James Kwabo, Michael Doe Tipayson, Kelvin Johnson, William S. Teage, Faliku Freeman, Dorothy Doedee, and Mohammed Bamba.
The Legal Affairs Committee comprises Atty. Emmanuel Reeves and Atty. Henry Lombeh, who are expected to provide legal guidance and ensure compliance with electoral regulations.
Josiah Farr serves as Campaign Manager and chairs the Campaign Steering Committee. Members include Kimberline A. C. Annan, Benjamin Dagher, Clifton Kwayekeh Glee, Veltor T.S. Johnson, Mustapha Sherman, Isaac Maupon, Felecia Dorbor, Jamesetta Gblee, Shiphrah Saydee, Napaye Guzeh, Victoria Forkpa Kollie, Rita Cole Reeves, Massa B. Sesay, Abraham Karsuah, Justina Dorbor, and Vashti Mai Saway.
The Committee on Finance and Administration comprises Gayflor Flomo, Daniella Williams, Winnifred M. Doe, Inez M. Jay, Dearest Jensen, Amelia Payne, Fanta Kaba, Emmanuel Vesselee, Obediah Barclay, Massa Minor, Elizabeth Davis, and Odell Jaju Diggs.
Members of the Recruitment and Mobilization Committee include Mustapha Sherman, Forlo Tomah, Mekeleh Gbuapaye, Godwin Dorbuweh, Mohfeh Dekpah, Eddie Joe Mowenn, Bobby Clarke, Abdullah Randolph Kemokai, Toni Gbeh, Harrison Tarpeh, Winston Darh, Abraham Browne, Austin Tokpah, Joseph Kollie, Eric Kpelleh, James Griggs, Michael Sackor, Nathan Gibson, Blamo Tweh, Hassan Hassan (Oil Block), Linda Doe, Albertlyn Dossen, Ruth Doe, Peter Jaffa, Lovely Teewon, Maryann Barrolle, and Joseph Yarkpawolo.
The Planning and Research Committee includes Dr. Kaiballah Conteh (PhD Candidate), Abrahim Boimah Sillah, Mohammed Konneh, Jerome Wollor, Antoinette Nimely, Emmanuel Beah, Femi Ogundare, and Moses W. Bai.
The Media and Publicity Committee comprises Akoi M. Baysah, Jr., Byron Browne, Dean S. Tuolee, Ruth Gbatoe, Varflay Kamara, Amos Sumo, Reyes Wolee, Nassamuadi Yaya Bility, and Nyanti Togba.
Meanwhile, the Refreshment and Entertainment Committee includes Bendu Kaba, Davidetta Garjaye, Lovetta Pello, Clara Davis, Winniel Knowedde, Noami Browne, Comfort Teeba, Angeline Williams, Trokon Harmon, Melvin Harris, Amunee Meaka, and Cynthia Sway.
Coker’s campaign platform focuses on four key priorities: completion of the 16-classroom project at the University’s future campus in Margibi County; launch of a UMUAA Scholarship Program to support high-performing students; development of an official UMUAA website with a comprehensive alumni database and job portal; and regularization of the Annual Homecoming to strengthen alumni unity and engagement.
Team-Coker has expressed confidence that the broad-based committee will drive a campaign centered on unity, accountability, and progress within the Alumni Association.
The UMUAA Elections are scheduled for February 28, 2026, and will be held on the University campus.
