The Rainbow Town Orphanage Home in Gbarnga is appealing to government institutions, humanitarian organizations, and the general public for urgent support as it struggles to provide basic care for vulnerable children under its protection.
The orphanage, which has been caring for orphaned and underprivileged children for more than nine years, is facing serious difficulties due to limited resources and irregular assistance.
Rising living costs and a sharp decline in donations have compounded the challenges, threatening the sustainability of the home.Speaking to reporters, Chief Executive Officer Mother Feeta Naimeh said the situation has made it increasingly difficult to meet the daily needs of the children.
“Feeding the children, paying school-related expenses, and accessing medical care have become daily struggles for us,” she said.
According to Mother Naimeh, the orphanage continues to operate despite the constraints, but external support is now critical to ensure the children’s safety, education, and well-being.
She appealed for assistance in the form of food items, clothing, educational materials, medical supplies, and financial support, noting that such contributions would help sustain the home’s operations.
Despite the challenges, the children at Rainbow Town Orphanage remain hopeful for a better future. The management says the appeal is part of ongoing efforts to ensure the home continues to provide care, protection, and a sense of hope to vulnerable children in Gbarnga and surrounding communities.
The situation highlights the growing need for collective action to protect Liberia’s vulnerable children.
