President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has officially launched the Youth Entrepreneurship Investment Bank, the YEIB.

The initiative, the Liberian leader stated speaks directly to the heart of the future because over sixty percent of the Country’s population is under the age of thirty.

According to him, The program gives hope to the young people by turning them from job seekers into job creators.

As part of the program, he told the gathering that it will provide financing, mentorship, and the skills they need to succeed in agriculture, technology, the knowledge based economy, and other emerging sectors.

Speaking further , he pointed out that said initiative aligns perfectly with the government’s ARREST Agenda for InclusiveDevelopment, which among other things places strong emphasis on economic revitalization and private sector growth.

Moreover, President Boakai stated that the program also see the Domestic Resource Mobilization initiative as a game-changer, one that will support inclusive and sustainable development for Liberia and across Africa.

Also speaking when the government of Liberia honored and recognized the remarkable work done by the President of the African Development Bank Dr. Akinwumi Adesina President Boakai reminded Dr. Adesina that his work and impact in Liberia is strong and enduring.

He acknowledged that the programs championed by the astute African leader will continue to make an impact for years to come.

President Boakai said as Liberia looks to the future, it sincerely hope that his successor at the African Development Bank will give thoughtful consideration to the Liberty Corridor Project — an ambitious infrastructure initiative connecting Liberia to Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Mali.

President Boakai told Dr. Adesina that while the project is fundamentally about regional integration and shared prosperity, Liberia to admit would also love to play the role of a gateway for landlocked neighbors to access the Atlantic!

Liberia believes that the corridor holds great potential for unlocking growth and strengthening cross-border trade”, he emphasized.

President Boakai also thank the African Development Bank boss for always reminding Liberia that she is a founding member and proud shareholder of such great African institution.

He urged Dr. Adesina that as he moves into new endeavors to serve Africa and the world, to continue to inspire excellence, drive impact, and elevate African voices on the global stage.

According to President Boakai, Dr. Akinwumi has been a trusted partner and a champion for Africa’s development.

Under his visionary leadership, President Boakai outlined the African Development Bank has not only grown in size but has redefined the way development financing works on the continent.

He told the gathering that the Bank’s capital grew to more than four billion dollars in just ten years compared to a little over two billion in the previous fifty years, “That is not just progress, That is transformation”, he re-emphasized.

The Chief Executive recounting the impact of Dr. Adesina’s leadership, he indicate further that Liberia is honored to be one of the countries he chose to visit as he concludes your remarkable tenure.

” This visit gives us an opportunity to learn from your experience and draw inspiration from your unwavering dedication to Africa’s development”, he noted.

President Boakai told the African leader that over the years, he has shown the world that bold ideas, when combined with clear vision and determination, can produce extraordinary results.

“Through your leadership, the African Development Bank has invested in real solutions that touch lives every day”, he added.

Making reference to Liberia, he stated that the Bank’s current portfolio is impressive, standing at about 408 million United States dollars and covering 18 projects in sectors critical to growth, highlighting that these
include transport, energy, agriculture, finance, and multisectoral initiatives, nothing that these investments are not just numbers on paper.

“They are roads that connect our communities, energy that lights up homes and businesses, and agriculture projects that strengthen food security and create income for our farmers”, he noted.

At the same time, he appreciate his support for public financial management reforms which have improved fiscal discipline and enhanced service delivery in Liberia.

These steps have helped us rebuild trust in governance and set the stage for lasting progress, he re-emphasized.
