In the wake of widespread rumor of the resurfacing of ebola vistus disease, The National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) has confirmed that all tests for a suspected Ebola case have proven negative contray to previous media reports.
According to the NPHIL, the proactive and robust response to the containment of a potential health threat demonstrates its readiness and vigilance of Liberia’s disease surveillance network.
The timely and transparent response to the situation NPHIL narrated began when a deceased individual exhibited symptoms consistent with Viral Hemorrhagic Fever (VHF).
Following established protocols, the Health Ministry immediately issued precautionary measures to health officers, including quarantine for contacts and the reactivation of emergency protocols, demonstrating a proactive approach in preventing any potential spread.
As part of the process, Samples promptly analyzed using advanced molecular PCR testing at the National Reference Laboratory conclusively ruled out both Ebola and Marburg virus diseases, confirming that there is currently no threat from these pathogens in Liberia.
“This event serves as a powerful real-world test of Liberia’s health security infrastructure”, NPHIL disclosed.
Meanwhile, Citizens are encouraged to remain calm, continue adhering to standard health measures, and rely on official sources like the NPHIL hotline for verified information, which is a cornerstone of maintaining public trust and safety.
