In a bold move toward transparency and accountability, the Mayor of the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC), John Siafa, has officially invited the Civil Service Agency (CSA) to conduct a comprehensive financial audit of the institution.

Speaking Tuesday at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) regular press briefing in Monrovia, Mayor Siafa disclosed that financial discrepancies have been uncovered within the MCC’s Finance Department.

The mayor admitted that fraudulent activities are taking place within the corporation and assured the public that his administration is taking urgent and decisive action to address the situation.

“We are committed to transparency and accountability, and we welcome the CSA to help us uncover any wrongdoing and restore public trust,” Mayor Siafa emphasized.

The lastest decision observers say shows the mayor’s request as a proactive step toward institutional reform and an effort to strengthen financial governance within the MCC.
