The Liberia Airport
Authority (LAA) has taken note of a recent social media post by Mr. Sabey
Varpilah, alleging the loss of personal items during his travel through Roberts International Airport (RIA)
on May 16, 2025.

The LAA takes these allegations seriously and is committed to conducting a
thorough investigation to ensure transparency, accountability, and the
continued safety and integrity of all travellers at RIA.

The Authority is particularly concerned by claims that parcels were missing
from Mr. Varpilah’s luggage after completing the customs process. In response,
the LAA has initiated an immediate review of the incident, including a full
examination of CCTV footage covering the relevant time frame.

The LAA encourages Mr. Varpilah to provide any additional information that
may assist the investigation.

“The Liberia Airport Authority is fully committed to identifying any
individuals responsible for misconduct and taking appropriate actions to
prevent future occurrences,” said an LAA spokesperson.

The Authority remains steadfast in its mission to uphold the highest
standards of service, integrity, and security across all operations at
Roberts International Airport. Any behavior falling short of these standards
will not be tolerated.

The LAA urges all travellers and airport users to continue reporting any
concerns. All reports will be handled with the utmost seriousness and
professionalism.
