The bustling gold mining town of Gbeapo Joequieken is set to receive a much-needed boost in healthcare with the commencement of a construction of the state-of-the-art clinic.
The milestone marks an important step forward in improving access to healthcare services for the residents of Joequieken Community.
Representative Isaac Boy Choloplay Wuo, of Electoral District 2 of River Gee County, spearheaded the groundbreaking project, underscoring his commitment to enhancing healthcare services within the county.
With an self initiative investment of US$55,000, the new clinic is positioned to provide a wide range of medical services to meet the increasing healthcare needs of the town and its surrounding areas.
As one of the primary gold mining hubs, Gbeapo Joequieken has experienced rapid growth, highlighting the pressing need for improved infrastructure, particularly in healthcare facilities.
The launch of the modern clinic signifies a new era of healthcare delivery and well-being for the Drobo clan, Nyanwiliken Administrative district, River Gee County.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Rep. Wuo expressed his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the pivotal role of quality healthcare in improving the lives of community members.
“The clinic will not only offer medical services but will also contribute to the overall welfare of our citizens,” he affirmed. “Accessible and effective healthcare is a fundamental right for every individual, and today, we are taking a crucial step towards securing that right for the people of Gbeapo Joequieken.”
The construction of the clinic is expected to create job opportunities and stimulate local economic growth.
By providing a range of services, from routine health check-ups to emergency care, the facility aims to reduce the need for residents to travel long distances for medical treatment.
Community leaders and residents gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony expressed gratitude and optimism for the future benefits of the clinic.
Ma. Dorris Quayee, women leader in the Joequieken community, shared her perspective, stating, “The clinic is a blessing for us. Improved healthcare has long been a pressing need. Now, we can look forward to a healthier future for our families”, the added.
Abraham Jalloh from the Muslim community of Joequieken highlighted the challenges that pregnant women and children face in accessing healthcare in the area but with the availability of the clinic upon full completion said story will be history.
Chief elder Victor Nagbeh, thanked Representative Isaac Boy Choloplay Wuo for initiating the construction of the healthcare facility, expressing hope for positive outcomes.
For his part, County Health Team Board Chairman and Superintendent of River Gee County Mike Tarpeh Swengbe commended Rep. Wuo for his dedication to the well-being of his constituents and pledged full support for the construction of the clinic.
Once completed, the clinic is poised to serve not only the residents of Gbeapo Joequieken but also the surrounding towns and villages, extending its impact to lower Grand Kru County.
The establishment of the modern healthcare facility not only raises healthcare standards in Gbeapo Joequieken but also sets a positive example for neighboring communities, promoting improved health outcomes across the county.
