The Dara Willie Humanitarian Foundation, led by the dedicated Miss Dara V. Willie, has partnered with the Thompson M. Nana Humanitarian Foundation, headed by the philanthropic Thompson M. Nana, to provide essential food and non-food items to several communities in Kakata and its environs.
The initiative comes as a timely contribution ahead of Liberia’s 178th Independence Day celebrations scheduled for Saturday July 26.
The donation event, which took place in the Telecom Community saw a massive turnout from local residents, community leaders, and representatives of both foundations including beneficiaries for several communities in the North central region of Liberia.
Hundreds of families in the Kakata region are currently benefiting from the generous donations, which included staple food items, clothing, hygiene products, and other essential supplies.
Dara V. Willie chief executive officer of the Dara V. Willie Humantarian foundation Inc. emphasized the importance of solidarity and community support during challenging times.
“Our mission is to uplift and empower the communities we serve. As we approach this transform lives especially on a national holiday, it is vital to ensure that every family has the resources they need to celebrate and participate in the festivities with joy”, he added.
According to him, the partnership with the Thompson M. Nana Humanitarian Foundation reinforces their commitment to humanitarian efforts and community empowerment.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Nana Humanitarian Foundation Thompson M. Nana echoed these sentiments, mentioning the importance of collective action in times of need.
“Working together as a united front allows us to make a more substantial impact in the lives of those who need it most and this collaboration with the Dara Willie Humanitarian Foundation is a testament to the power of partnership in promoting human welfare,” he said.
The event included not only the distribution of goods but also an engaging program with local music, traditional dance performances, and speeches that inspired hope and resilience among community members particularly in Telecom, Wenneh Town, Kpelle Town, and Gbovala Communities.
Local leaders praised the efforts of the foundations and encouraged others to contribute to ongoing humanitarian initiatives within Kakata and beyond.
“Onbelalf of the people of Telecom, we want to say thank you to the two foundation for this great partnership, this is what our people especially people living with visual impairment and disabilities look forward to and we look forward for bigger opportunities in the fourthy Two communities in Kakata and beyond, We are happy because the gesture came at the time where our people especially our older folks are in need” Telecom Community Chairman explained.
Speaking further, several residents expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the donations, which they said would alleviate some of the burdens faced by families in the region.
Many thanked the foundations for their timely assistance, especially in light of the upcoming celebrations that typically bring added pressure on household budgets.
As Liberia prepares to celebrate its 178th Independence Day, the efforts of the Dara Willie Humanitarian Foundation and the Thompson M. Nana Humanitarian Foundation serve as a beacon of hope, encouraging a spirit of cooperation and kindness that resonates throughout the communities of Kakata.
