A professional campus based group, women on women at the Louis Arthur Grimes school of Law puts smiles on the faces of baby mothers when they donated essential food and non food items to them.
The gesture by the students lawyers was among other things their way of identifying with their fellow females especially those who cant afford upon giving birth.
The exciting and relief intervention by WOW was hailed by not only the beneficiaries but administrators of the JFK Japanese Friendship Maternity hospital who described the move as timely and meaningful.
Speaking during the brief presentation ceremony, the President of the group Izetta J. Howe acknowledged the crucial role nurses and mid wives played in the sector as such deserve support.
She explained that even though their take home pay does not march the sacrifices they make to save lives but their passion and commitment to the job is overwhelming and needs some level of motivation.
President Howe used the ocassion to encourage the professional health workers to continue their professional services to the nation and its people in the midst of limited support and resources.
“My mother was a nurse and my sister is also in the health sector so I know what you people go through but dont give up, keep working harder , the society is looking at you “, she admonished them.
As for the coordinator of the Women on Women at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, Jereline E. Jones, she pledged their support to continue to render assistance to the most needed while in school.
Even though we are students, but we are committed to putting our merger resources together to help the most needed and underprivileged in the society “, she noted.
Jereline adding her voice to her boss appreciated the work done by the health workers and also urged them to use the items donated for its intended purpose.
In response, the Administrator of the Liberia Japanese Friendship Maternity hospital Davidetta AB Parker Sirleaf and her deputy Nyeminah Yaba Williams both commended the WOW for the kind gesture terming it as welcoming.
They explained that the items are important for the beneficiaries especially those that cant afford.
Both Sirleaf and Williams assured the students lawyers that the essential items donated will be used for the intended purpose and will help put smiles on their faces.
Meanwhile, some of the items donated include: several bags of Rice, tissues and a combination of an essential package of young baby items among others.
