The Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas (ALJA) – Midwest Chapter has elected a new leadership team to serve a two-year term.
Speaking following the election, the newly elected President Success Minor challenged his core of officers to see the trust and honor place in them by their colleagues as a serious responsibility urging them to be committed in strengthening ALJA’s Midwest presence.
President- Elect Minor also encouraged them to foster collaboration among members in order to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Liberian journalism.
The new leadership at the same time reaffirmed its commitment to promoting ethical journalism and professional development among Liberian media practitioners in the region.
President Minor during his two years term will be ably assisted by Vivian Cooper who was also reelected as Vice President.
Others elected include , Nathan Patio Charles, Secretary General while Lisa Dahn was re-elected to continue serving as both Financial Secretary and Treasurer and Dr. Alexander Reed was also reelected as the Midwest Chapter Board Representative respectively.
The elections took place during the chapter’s in-person meeting on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in Minnesota.
During the meeting, Members of ALJA expressed strong confidence in the newly elected officers and urged them to pursue a more dynamic and robust agenda for the chapter.
Meanwhile, The induction of the new officers is scheduled to take place during ALJA’s national convention in October 2025.
