An 18-year-old man has been detained and forwarded to court on charges of illegal drug possession following an incident in Gorgbahn community, Wayzohn City.
According to authorities, the suspect, Abraham Miller, was apprehended on August 20, 2025, after officers from the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) responded to reports of drug activity in the area.
Miller was reportedly found with a stash of kush, concealed beneath a mortar he was sitting on while relaxing with friends after a practice session.
Miller has been charged under sections 14.85 and 14.86 of the drug law.
The LDEA and other law enforcement agencies continue to intensify their efforts to combat drug-related crimes, aiming to protect communities and youth from the dangers of substance abuse.
Community members expressed concern over the rising prevalence of drug use in the area, urging continued enforcement and community awareness programs to address the issue.
