The WLC is therefore calling on the Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Justice, to launch an immediate, impartial, and thorough investigation into this case.
Additionally, WLC urge all relevant authorities to ensure that due process is followed and that the rights of all parties, especially the alleged victim, are protected.
Furthermore, the Women’s Legislative Caucus demands that the survivor be placed in a safe home or protected environment where she can receive psychosocial support and remain shielded from intimidation, bullying, or undue influence during the course of the investigation nothing that protecting her well-being is paramount.
