The head of the group Solidarity and Trust for a new Liberia Mulbah Morlu has heavily criticized President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for his deafening silence over the demolition of the masses homes in the wake of untold hardship which has plague the nation and its people.
According to Morlu the struggling masses are crying for Justice as poor families continue to suffer from alleged violence and vulnerability by the Boakai’s administration.
The STAND, in collaboration with the “We the People Movement”, at the same time reemphasized its condemnation over the Liberian government’s defense of recent demolitions that have rendered numerous vulnerable and impoverished citizens homeless.
The group asserted that while it upholds the fair application of the rule of law, it categorically rejects the continued weaponization of the court system to unjustly evict struggling families.
Moreover, STAND observed a perceived double standard, stating that properties belonging to the rich and the powerful, like George Kailando and others , are left untouched, while the homes of the poor are razed.
The organization detailed widespread demolitions across various communities, citing examples from Cong Town to Catton Tree on the Robertsfield Highway, and from Battery Factory to Bushrod Island and Newport Street to Nezo respectively.
According to STAND, bulldozers operating under the supervision of the government have been tearing the homes and communities of poor people without remorse.
