The Senate Committee Chair on National Defence, Security and Veterans Affairs, Lofa County Senator, Momo Cyrus has donated a huge consignment of rain gear to the Liberia National Police (LNP).

The donation made by Senator includes; 500 raincoats and 1,000 reflective jackets.

The gesture was in an effort to ensure safety during the rainy season for officers of the Liberia National Police.

Speaking during the presentation, Senator Cyrus praised the LNP for its professionalism under the leadership of Inspector General Gregory Coleman and pledged to advocate for increased budgetary support in the 2026 national budget.

He also announced that, as part of his July 26 giveaway, he will donate 350 bags of rice and 150 pieces of rain gear to the Joint Security in Lofa County.

Receiving the items, Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman thanked Senator Cyrus for his gesture and streseed that the it shows the police’s efforts are being recognized.

At the same time, the Police Boss also raised concern over the rising number of road accidents in the country, stating that the raincoats will help traffic officers stay visible and safe during rainy conditions.
