President Joseph Boakai has expressed deep sorrow and a profound sense of
loss over the passing of Madam Nancy Bohn Doe, former First Lady of the
Republic of Liberia.
Speaking on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, President Boakai
extended heartfelt condolences to the Doe family during this time of mourning.
The President noted that Madam Doe served the nation with grace and dignity
during a pivotal period in Liberiaโs history. As First Lady, she fulfilled the
responsibilities of her role with strength, compassion, and an unwavering
commitment to both her family and country.
President Boakai, who served as a cabinet minister during the administration
of her late husband, former Head of State Samuel K. Doe, reflected on her life
as one marked by resilience, national service, and personal sacrifice.
He acknowledged that while history may recount the complexities and
turbulence of that era, the nation must also honor the noble and courageous
path of Madam Doe. Her life, he said, was interwoven with Liberiaโs often
challenging but inspiring journey.
โMadam Doeโs legacy will remain etched in our national memory as part of
Liberiaโs broader historical narrative,โ the President stated.
He concluded by calling on the nation to pray for the Almightyโs blessings, granting
her eternal rest and bringing peace and strength to her loved ones in this time
of loss.
