Following massive public outcry surrounding the arrest and speedy investigation in the case linking accused Deputy Youth and Sports Minister for rape, the Liberian leader has taken a drastic decision against the accused public official of government.
President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has suspended the Deputy Minister for Youth Development at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Bryant McGill, following serious allegations of involvement in the rape of a minor.
According to the Liberian leader, the decision has been taken in line with the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of sexual and gender-based violence and to ensure a fair and transparent investigation.
Deputy Minister McGill will remain suspended until the conclusion of the investigation.
