President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has made a significant empowerment intervention to the National Aids Commission.
The Liberian leader in a drive to help alleviate some of the challenges facing the National AIDS Commission donated two brand new picks up to that agency of government.
During the presentation, Georgette Gray, Ex-Officio Member and Representative of the President to the NAC Board, conveyed President Boakaiโs continued commitment to advancing national health priorities and ensuring the NAC is equipped to effectively deliver on its mandate.
She emphasized that the vehicles will directly enhance the Commissionโs ability to reach communities, implement programs, and monitor HIV/AIDS interventions across the country.
โPresident Boakai understands the critical role that logistics play in our national HIV response,โ Madam Gray stated,โ adding that โThis donation is a reflection of his leadership and his Governmentโs support to public health institutions doing essential work”, she reechoed.
Among other things, the gesture by the chief executive was also geared towards further helping to strengthen the operations of the National Aids commission across the Country.
The donation which came following a successful fundraising event held for the National AIDS Commission (NAC) on Friday was also done in fulfillment of the Liberian leader’s pledge to that agency of government.
Receiving the donation, Dr. Cecelia J. Nuta, Chairperson of the National AIDS Commission, expressed deep appreciation to President Boakai for the timely and impactful gesture.
She pledged that the vehicles would be used to strengthen field coordination, expand community outreach, and ensure effective service delivery.
โThis donation comes at a crucial time as we work to scale up our national response,โ Dr. Nuta said. She furthered that, โWe are grateful to President Boakai for his generous support and for reaffirming his confidence in the Commissionโs work. These vehicles will significantly enhance our operational capacity”, she noted.
In the wake of funding challenge, The Boakai’s Administration continue to prioritize the health sector, with a focus on building strong institutions, expanding access to care, and ensuring that no community is left behind in the national development agenda-The ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
