President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.,has commissioned a new fleet of firefighting equipment.

The move is among other things meant to enhance the operational readiness and capacity of the Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS).

The commissioning ceremony, held on the grounds of the Executive Mansion in Monrovia, featured the formal handover of critical assets including: six state-of-the-art fire trucks, three water trucks, two operational Jeeps and ten motorcycles for rapid response and community engagement.

Speaking at the handover ceremony President Boakai emphasized that the initiative reflects his Administration’s dedication to protecting lives, property, and the environment under the ARREST Agenda.

According him, these additions mark a significant step in the Administration’s commitment to improving national safety infrastructure and reducing the risk of fire-related disasters across Liberia.

He said his government is determine to build a Liberia where the citizens will feel safe while institutions will feel empowered to deliver.

The Liberian leader also encouraged the Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS) to maintain high levels of professionalism and urged the public to cooperate with fire safety initiatives.

At the same time , the Head of the Liberia National Fire Service Agency, G. Wasuwah Barvoul, Sr. expressed deep gratitude for the landmark investment.

Mr. Barvoul further assured that the equipment will be deployed strategically across the country to ensure equitable service delivery, especially in fire-prone and underserved communities.

The Liberia National Fire Service will begin immediate regional deployment of the new fleet, with trained personnel assigned to manage and operate the equipment to full effect.

“These equipment will not sit in garages. They are tools of service, tools that represent our duty to protect every Liberian community from the devastating impact of fire outbreaks,” President Boakai stated”.

According to the Fire Service Boss, the moment is historic for the Fire Service.

He stated that with these new trucks, water carriers, jeeps, and motorcycles, they are ably empowered and capacitated to now respond faster, reach remote areas, and save more lives.

“For too long, we’ve worked with limited resources but Today’s commissioning is not just about vehicles—it is about restoring confidence in our ability to protect this nation,” Col. Barvoul, reemphasized.

Speaking further he told the gathering that the equipment will be deployed strategically across the country to ensure equitable service delivery, especially in fire-prone and underserved communities.

As part of their new exercise, The Liberia National Fire Service will begin immediate regional deployment of the new fleet, with trained personnel assigned to manage and operate the equipment to full effect.

Meanwhile, The development is part of the Boakai Administration’s ongoing investment in public safety and institutional revitalization, as it works to build a resilient, service-oriented government for the people of Liberia.
