Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has arrived in Paris for an official State Visit to the French Republic at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron, marking a renewed push to deepen Liberia’s diplomatic and economic partnerships with France.

President Boakai received full state honors upon arrival, including a Guard of Honor and military ceremonial welcome, underscoring the significance of the visit.

During his stay, President Boakai will hold bilateral talks with President Macron at the Élysée Palace.

The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation in priority sectors such as trade, investment, infrastructure, education, and sustainable development.

The Liberian leader will also engage members of the French Legislature to explore enhanced parliamentary collaboration.

In addition to government engagements, President Boakai will participate in a high-level meeting with executives of ArcelorMittal, one of the world’s largest steel and mining companies.

This meeting aims to bolster ongoing partnerships and support initiatives that drive economic growth and job creation in Liberia.

A key highlight of the visit will be the signing of a Bilateral Cooperation Agreement between Liberia and France, an important milestone in the decades-long relationship between the two nations.

Following his engagements in France, President Boakai will travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for a series of working meetings intended to expand Liberia’s international partnerships and attract new investment opportunities.

President Boakai is accompanied by senior government officials and advisers.

Meanwhile, the Government of Liberia expressed appreciation for the continued support of its development partners and reaffirmed its commitment to “constructive diplomacy and meaningful global engagement.”

While the President is abroad, the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Samuel A. Stevquoah III, will chair Cabinet activities in consultation with the Vice President and remain in contact with the President.
