The Liberty Party (LP) has sharply rejected what it described as baseless and inflammatory allegations leveled against Montserrado County Senator Abe Darius Dillon.

In a press release issued in Monrovia on Wednesday, the LP denounced claims made by some members of the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR), accusing them of spreading falsehoods for political gain.

According to the LP, the allegations suggest that Senator Dillon was involved in the death of the late Senator Prince Johnson and that his recent criticisms of Labor Minister, Cllr. Cooper Kruah are driven by tribal bias. The party branded the accusations as “dangerous, slanderous, and defamatory,” saying they are a calculated attempt to distract Senator Dillon from his ongoing advocacy for justice, accountability, and workers’ rights.

Addressing the death of Senator Johnson, the LP noted that both medical authorities and family members confirmed he died of natural causes. The party condemned efforts to politicize his death by linking it to Senator Dillon, calling such actions “deeply regrettable.”

Reaffirming Senator Dillon’s long-standing call for the establishment of a War and Economic Crimes Court, the LP emphasized that his advocacy seeks to advance justice and end impunity, not to target any individual or ethnic group.

On the issue involving the Ministry of Labor, the LP maintained that Senator Dillon’s criticisms of Minister Kruah are policy-driven and aimed at promoting transparency and accountability within the ministry.

The party further warned that replacing legitimate policy debates with personal and tribal attacks risks undermining national unity.

Finally, the Liberty Party urged MDR leaders and the Ministry of Labor to prioritize improving the welfare of Liberian workers instead of fueling divisive narratives.

“The LP stands firmly with Senator Dillon as he continues to champion justice and the rights of Liberians,” the statement concluded.
