Former President George Weah has commended President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and his entire government for ensuring that Liberia secures a seat at the global table as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
“I extend heartfelt appreciation to the Government of Liberia, led by President Joseph Boakai, for ensuring that this monumental national aspiration came to a successful conclusion”, he re-emphasized.
The former Liberian leader also thanked ECOWAS, African Union (AU), and all local and international stakeholders who supported Liberia from the onset which followed through with a resounding 181 votes respectively.
According to him, when his government began the journey, the goal was clear to claim Liberia’s rightful place on the world stage and advance global peace and security.
He stated that with the current diplomatic milestone giving Liberia, it is a great opportunity for the nation and its people.
Liberia he stressed will now use the opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to championing these ideals while advocating tirelessly for Liberia.
Former President Weah also call on all Liberians to use the landmark achievement to work in the collective interest of the Country.
